'The Farmers League strikes again' - Man Utd and Arsenal mocked by Premier League haters
Manchester United, Arsenal and the Premier League in general were mocked mercilessly on social media after the negative results of the two English clubs on Tuesday evening.
United and Arsenal were predicted by most in England to cruise through their matches on matchday two of the Champions League.
The Red Devils hosted Galatasaray at Old Trafford in a game in which former England star Joe Cole predicted would be much easier than the weekend match against Brentford.

However, United fell to a humiliating 3-2 home defeat after a dreadful performance filled with errors, most notably from under-fire goalkeeper Andre Onana.
The result means that United are now bottom of their group after two games with no points and seven goals conceded.
They face the real risk of exiting the Champions League in the group stages as manager Erik ten Hag fights calls for him to be sacked by the Man Utd owners.

As for Arsenal, they also were expected to see off Ligue 1 side Lens, who are currently 15th in their league with seven points from seven games.
But the French side earned a 2-1 victory in France, taking them above Arsenal and into first place in their group.
Both teams and the Premier League in general were mocked by anti-Premier League fans on social media.
There has been a growing perception among followers from Ligue 1, Bundesliga, La Liga and Serie A of an arrogance and ignorance towards their league from the super-rich Premier League and its supporters.
This is best exemplified by the common use of the term ‘farmers’ to describe foreign leagues and clubs outside of England.
The irony of two ‘farmers teams’ beating Man Utd and Arsenal was not lost after Tuesday’s results.
