Fabrizio Romano has moved to clarify Marcus Rashford’s position at Manchester United after a disappointing start to the season both personally and for the club.

Rashford signed a new contract with the Red Devils in the summer after a spectacular end to the 2022/23 campaign, but he has failed to replicate that form this time around.

The 25-year-old as chipped in with just a single goal this season – away against Arsenal in the Premier League – while he has turned out eight times for Erik ten Hag’s side, playing a total of 700 minutes of competitive football.

Some fans have raised questions over the body language of the player, which they see as alarming, but Romano says that Rashford remains fully committed to Man Utd and is training positively to get out of his slump.

Romano sends clear Rashford message

Taking to YouTube, the football transfer news specialist told followers: “Obviously it’s not an easy beginning of the season at Manchester United in general. It’s obvious that we can see he’s not performing at the best level.

“But at the same time, people close to the player, Manchester United and people close to the training sessions also, say that he is doing his best.

“It’s just a matter of time to see Marcus Rashford back to his best level. This is the feeling of all people involved. There is no panic, no alert.

“The process is still absolutely ongoing to make Marcus Rashford the best level at Manchester United. It’s just a matter of time. They know Marcus Rashford will be back very soon.”

Man Utd’s latest setback was a 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace at home in the Premier League on Saturday, which has raised the pressure on Ten Hag and his players.

They are next in action on Tuesday against Galatasaray at Old Trafford in the Champions League – a match they are expected to win.
