Man Utd’s asking price for Jadon Sancho in January - Fabrizio Romano

Manchester United are hoping to receive a fee of between £50-55 million in January in order to sell outcast Jadon Sancho, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Romano reports that United accept that they will find it very difficult to sell the player during the winter window, and so a loan move is far more likely.

Nevertheless, the Italian reports that Sancho’s career at Old Trafford is over.

What did Romano say about Sancho?

“I think they [United] know at the moment that it’s not going to be a permanent transfer, that could be a loan deal with a buy option included,” Romano said on Tuesday.

“So, I think in January that they will be open to any opportunity of course. Of course, they would prefer a permanent transfer, that would be perfect to have their money back after what they spent on Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund. But, at the moment, they know in January to find a top class club in Europe prepared to pay, and this is my opinion and not the official price, somewhere between £50m-£55m is not going to be easy. So we will have to see what happens there.

“At the moment, the people from Manchester United are very clear. It looks like it’s 90 per cent over between Jadon Sancho and Man United. We keep a 10 per cent because we know that anything can happen in football, but as of today, it reminds us of the situation with Cristiano Ronaldo one year ago. The feeling is that Jadon has to find a new club in the January transfer window.”

Sancho has been completely frozen out of the squad at Man Utd, with manager Erik ten Hag exiling the Englishman from first-team training.

It came after Ten Hag criticised Sancho publicly last month for his poor performances in training, which was followed by the winger essentially calling his manager a liar on social media.

Sancho has not been called up since the incident and now looks all but certain to leave Manchester United in January. A return to Borussia Dortmund has been touted, while some Serie A and Saudi clubs are also reportedly interested.
