Arsenal are gearing up to lose Thomas Partey during the January transfer window, with Juventus stepping up their interest in landing the Ghana international midfielder.

Partey has long been linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium, and a start to the season that has seen him troubled by injury has not aided his chances of being retained by Mikel Arteta’s side.

Indeed, the 30-year-old former Atletico Madrid star had been used in the right-back role by the Spaniard early in the campaign as the Gunners made a tactical shift, yet these could prove among his last minutes for the club he joined in 2020 for €50 million.

Juventus, meanwhile, are on the hunt for a central midfielder to help take over from Paul Pogba, who faces suspension after being found guilty of doping.

According to FootMercato, they have stepped up their interest in Partey.

“A meeting has already taken place between the player and the management of the Serie A giants,” the French source claims.

Juve pushing for transfers

Juventus will also have to cope with the thorny issue of Adrien Rabiot’s contract in the near future, with the France international’s deal set to expire next summer, making him eligible as a free agent and posing another long-term question mark on the midfield are of Massimiliano Allegri’s side.

Juve, meanwhile, are enjoying a renaissance under Allegri this season, sitting second in the Serie A table behind leaders Inter by two points but well clear of the chasing pack.

This ambition to win the Serie A title is further fuelling their desire to raid Arsenal for Partey, who has an expected transfer value of €18.6m, according to FootballTransfers’ Player Valuation Model.

Juventus also hope to complete the signings of Domenico Berardi from Sassuolo and Piotr Zielinski from Napoli as they target a return to the very top.
