Chelsea and Arsenal face serious competition for Mudryk favourite
Juventus continue to lead the way for Shakhtar Donetsk and Ukraine star Georgiy Sudakov, according to reports, despite interest from Chelsea and Arsenal.
The 21-year-old attacking midfielder impressed during this summer’s U21 European Championship and now has 12 senior caps for Ukraine after establishing himself as a key player for Shakhtar.
Sudakov’s rise to prominence has attracted interest from several top teams in Europe, with Manchester City and Brighton & Hove Albion previously keeping tabs on his progress in Ukraine.
Now, Gazzetta dello Sport have reported that Juventus are continuing to scout Sudakov and he remains a key transfer target for next summer, if not in January.
The report states that Shakhtar are demanding €30 million for the 21-year-old’s signature, although they are hoping for a bidding war to drive up his price.
Juve’s pursuit of Sassuolo star Domenico Berardi could impact their ability to sign Sudakov as well, however, meaning a deal is by no means set in stone.
As a result, that could leave the door open for Chelsea and Arsenal, both of whom have been linked with a move for the Shakhtar midfielder this season.
Juventus have been leading the race for quite some time, as per multiple reports, but a Premier League switch is not out of the question.
However, the London clubs do face serious competition from Juventus and must act fast if they are serious about signing one of Ukraine’s best young talents.
Mudryk wants Sudakov
This time last year, Arsenal were expected to sign Mykhailo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk after his impressive displays in the Champions League group stages.
However, Chelsea hijacked the deal and signed the speedy winger for an initial fee of €70m.
After the pair shone at the U21 Euros, Mudryk was asked whether he would like Sudakov to join him at Chelsea. The current Blues star simply replied: “That would be great.”
