Fabrizio Romano has issued another Gabriel Moscardo update - and it's not good news for Chelsea fans.

On Monday, sensational reports from Brazil claimed that the 18-year-old wonderkid was on his way to Stamford Bridge after Chelsea had agreed a €25/26m deal to sign the midfielder. Later that same day, Romano took to his YouTube channel to dismiss the reports.

Brazilian media had jumped the gun, no agreement had been reached and the youngster was not yet a Chelsea player. "It's not a done deal," the Italian transfer expert said late on Monday.

"It's a player they appreciate, yes for sure, they're well informed on the process, but the news of a done deal between Moscardo, Chelsea and Corinthians is not correct at this stage, according to my information."

"There are many clubs interested in Moscardo, so there could be surprises with other clubs involved...Moscardo will become a record sale for Corinthians and it will be in January, the mission is to leave in the January transfer window, but with Chelsea, at this stage, it's not a done deal."

Fresh update

Now, Romano has dropped a fresh update on the situation and revealed who one of the "many clubs interested" are: Paris Saint-Germain. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, the Italian again asserted that the race to sign the sought-after holding midfielder is still wide open.

"Paris Saint-Germain remain among clubs keen on signing Gabriel Moscardo. The race is open — including English clubs too. No agreement done with Chelsea and it doesn’t look imminent with #CFC at this stage."

Among the English sides rumoured to be interested in Moscardo are Liverpool who have been in the market for a defensive midfielder since the summer. Wataru Endo was always a short-term, stopgap solution, while the other three midfielders the Reds brought in are not natural in that position, hence the links to Moscardo and his compatriot Andre of Fluminense, though they have since moved on from the latter.
