The 17-year-old burst into the spotlight in the Champions League when his goal for Copenhagen downed Manchester United in a thrilling 4-3 affair that condemned the Red Devils to last place in their group. But even before his goal, the youngster, nicknamed the 'Swedish Messi,' was a well-known commodity to talent scouts.

Bardghji has been tearing it up for Copenhagen in the Danish top-flight and he has long since been regarded as one of Europe's biggest prospects. The young Swede has attracted the attention of Chelsea, who have made it their mission to sign the world's best prospects.

What has Bardghji said about his future?

Speaking to Gteborgs-Posten in light of the renewed media attention he is generating, the 17-year-old said regarding the interest in him: "It's fun, it means you're doing something good. But like I said before, I don't think too much about it."

"I play in Copenhagen and I am here with the national team now. But it's big and I'm glad they're looking at me. I have great confidence and believe that I am ready for whatever comes. I don't mean that I should go now, but I mean that I have the confidence regardless of whether it would be now or later."

"Right now I'm in Copenhagen. I develop every match and every training session. That's the most important thing for me, that development. When the time is right, it will be right, but I don't know when."

In 2022, the youngster told Aftonbladet: “My goal is to become the best footballer in the world. I've had that dream since I was a kid and nothing can stop me except myself. I want to end up at Real Madrid and I want to play there for many years.”
