The journalist touched on the winter window for the Reds, and who they will look to buy.

Liverpool have been linked to several names for 2024, but it’s still not clear whether they will pounce on any.

In a Q&A for the news outlet, Ornstein stated: “I’m not sure it will be a busy January at Anfield – they look competitive and don’t seem to need much – but we have learned from past experience that they are always alert and often spring a surprise. So let’s see, but right now there don’t seem to be any rumblings.”

Liverpool have enjoyed a bright start to their season, though their recent draw with Luton Town in the Premier League and a 3-2 defeat to Toulouse in the Europa League has dampened spirits.

It has led to calls for the Reds to bolster the squad in the January window, a period in which the club have been able to purchase the likes of Luis Suarez, Philippe Coutinho, Virgil van Dijk, Luis Diaz, and Cody Gakpo.

Alexis Mac Allister has yet to shine playing as a No.6 and Wataru Endo’s displays so far have left a lot to be desired.

Klopp fury

It comes after Klopp was left incensed during his post-match press conference at Toulouse after it was disturbed by supporters after Liverpool's Europa League defeat.

His side slumped to a 3-2 defeat in France and he was then fuming by UEFA's decision to hold his press conference in a tent outside of the stadium. "We were as organised as this press conference, pretty chaotic," Klopp said.

The noise continued and then he blasted: “Who had the idea to do the press conference here? Wow."
