Guirassy, 27, came to the fore again on Saturday by scoring a crucial match-winning penalty as Stuttgart squeezed past Borussia Dortmund.

It was his 15th Bundesliga goal this season, a record that has caught the eye of the likes of West Ham, Brentford and Crystal Palace as a host of Premier League clubs look to bolster their attacks in the coming transfer window.

Guirassy acknowledged his admiration of the English top flight, while refusing to rule out a move elsewhere or indeed staying in Germany.

“I cannot hide these things, everyone knows the Premier League is one of the most competitive leagues in the world," he told the Guardian.

"But at this time I don’t close any doors. There are some very big teams in Europe and it’s not focused only on the Premier League.

"At Stuttgart, we have such a good team and everything is possible in football. If we can continue to be humble like we have been so far then we have a good chance.”

Taking on Kane

In the meantime, Guirassy is involved in a fascinating top scorer race with one of football's deadliest marksmen.

With 15 Bundesliga goals he trails Harry Kane by two, while no other player in the league has yet managed to break double figures.

Kane has been in imperious form since joining Bayern Munich this summer, but Guirassy insists that he is flattered just to the compared to the ex-Tottenham ace.

“It’s something big to be competing with Harry Kane, who is a world-class striker," he stated.

"I think he has pushed a lot of strikers in the Bundesliga to raise their level to try to compete with him.”
