Szoboszlai launches dig at former Liverpool stars
Hungary international Dominik Szoboszlai has revealed that several Liverpool players were “satisfied” with being a substitute before he joined the club this summer.
Szoboszlai, 23, was signed by the Reds for €70 million from RB Leipzig during the most recent transfer window and has made an instant impact at Anfield.
The midfielder has played every single minute of Liverpool’s 10 Premier League matches so far in 2023-24, scoring once and providing two assists.

The Hungarian also scored in the Reds’ 3-1 win over Leicester City in the Carabao Cup just over a month ago.
However, he has now revealed that several unnamed Liverpool players were content with being on the substitutes bench last season.

What has Szoboszlai said?
Szoboszlai appeared on Hungarian podcast Premier Leak. “Everyone wants to get into the starting XI, that’s normal and that’s how it should be, the goal in every team.
“Who is satisfied with sitting on the bench? I’m going to be honest, there are a few. Actually before I came here there were some [at Liverpool] as well.
“I won’t name names, but I heard about it,” Szoboszlai admitted. “Personally, I want to play in every game, even if I’m a bit tired.
“Anything, whether it’s the FA Cup, League Cup, Europa League, Premier League, national team, anything.
“I'm in a good condition when I’m constantly needed. I’m in the best condition when I can play on Thursday and Sunday.
“Because then there’s no training, recovery, concentration, match, recovery, match, and this goes on and on, and this is perfect for me,” Szoboszlai concluded.
Jurgen Klopp’s side offloaded several stars during the summer, including Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Naby Keita, while Szoboszlai was one of four midfield arrivals.
Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch and Wataru Endo also joined Liverpool in the summer, with that trio arriving for a combined €102m.
