Romano confirms Liverpool interest in €45m wonderkid

Rumours linking Liverpool with Leeds United wonderkid Archie Gray have been verified by football transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano.
Liverpool have been associated with the 17-year-old, who has had a valuation of €46 million (£40m) placed on him by the Championship side.
Out of contract in 2025, Leeds could soon find themselves under pressure to sell the versatile youngster, who the Reds are closely monitoring as a potential recruit.

“Archie Gray is an impressive young player at Leeds United. Liverpool have sent their scouts to follow him multiple times,” Romano said.
“They are not the only club as many teams appreciate him and keep tracking Archie, but for sure Liverpool are one of them. There’s no bid or concrete negotiation at this stage, but they appreciate the player.”
Why Archie Gray has caught the eye
Gray has shown impressive flexibility for Leeds since breaking into the team on the opening day of the season, with his performances leading him to be compared to Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Like the England star, he can play on the right of the defence but has also slotted into the central midfield area when required this season.
He started the campaign playing as a defensive midfielder but has since moved to the right-back role and featured in that position as Leeds defeated Plymouth 2-1 at the weekend to keep Daniel Farke’s side in touch with the leaders.
Gray might have failed to score or register an assist in his professional career to date, but his maturity and athleticism have impressed in the second tier.
There is no indication on which clubs are tracking the youngster beyond Liverpool, but it is easy to believe that all of the Premier League’s biggest outfits are keeping tabs on Gray given his explosive start to life in the professional game.
