The Fluminense midfielder is set to leave the club during the January transfer window as several Premier League clubs are eyeing a move for one of the brightest young talents in South America.

Liverpool had been long-term admirers of the 22-year-old, but FootballTransfers understand the Reds have moved onto other targets as Jurgen Klopp looks to sign yet another midfielder, despite their summer overhaul in that area on the pitch.

Fulham are keen on signing Andre, we understand, while Man Utd’s interest in the Brazilian was first reported by FootballTransfers in early November.

Sources have informed us that Man Utd executives have informed Fluminense of their interest in Andre, although an official proposal has not yet been lodged by any club.

The Red Devils’ desire to sign the midfielder has been confirmed by various news outlets, including 90min, who have now reported that Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham are also monitoring Andre’s situation at Fluminense, with the view of making a January approach.

However, Spurs’ ability to sign Andre will rely on selling Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg first. The Denmark international has been linked with a move to Juventus following Paul Pogba’s suspension for doping, and Tottenham must offload the 28-year-old before pursuing Andre.

What has Andre said?

Andre was recently asked about his future at Fluminense and the man he could potentially replace at Old Trafford, Casemiro.

“Casemiro is a guy who has a huge career, I try to talk to him a lot when I'm with the national team,” the Brazilian admitted. “He's a person who gives me a lot of advice, he's a great leader and all I can do is continue playing well and I'm happy with all these surveys and comments."

“At this juncture, parting ways is quite challenging because I have a contract with Fluminense, and we also have crucial matches ahead. Nonetheless, I'm immensely content and grateful for this title and the unwavering support from the fans.

“At the conclusion of the season, we'll assess what the future holds. Every young player aspires to play in Europe someday. This isn't just my dream, but it's shared by the majority.

“With my current contract at Fluminense, proposals are likely to come in, and then it's time to engage in discussions with the club and determine what's best for all parties involved.”
