Erik ten Hag stumps fans with Mason Mount choice
Erik ten Hag has stumped Manchester United fans by choosing to leave Mason Mount out of the starting line-up for their match against Luton Town.
The Dutchman is trying to lead the club through a tough start to their campaign and there are being questions asked about why he is deciding to leave the England international on the bench.
Mount was bought by Man Utd from Chelsea in a deal worth up to £60million. But the player has failed to make his mark on the side so far.
Ten Hag, meanwhile, has opted to play Mount in a variety of positions this season, including as a No.6, No.8, and on the wing.

Away to Luton, Ten Hag has decided not to use Mount once again, and it's got plenty online scratching their heads about what's going on behind the scenes, or even why Mount was bought at all.
The Mason Mount situation is completely absurd. https://t.co/JCMhJfQorF

Most knowledgeable United fans were against us signing him in the first place given we already had Bruno in his preferred position. A powerful, box to box midfielder was needed much more.
A bizarre signing.— Beppe (@BeppeBeppeS) November 11, 2023
He's not actually that good? Yet to really have a good game at Man Utd.

Manchester United put so much effort and money into signing Mason Mount and he can’t start against Luton Town at Old Trafford.

Well I mean Mount got his chance against Newcastle in the EFL Cup and was terrible so you have to justify starts.
But I also think he can't be worse than Eriksen is in that role. It's odd.— Robert (@robbieswain14) November 11, 2023
