Ten Hag in dreamland! Juventus to solve THREE Man Utd problems
Donny van de Beek and two other Manchester United stars can revive their careers at Juventus.
The 26-year-old midfielder is currently in a desperate situation at Man Utd, where he was already tipped to leave the club last summer. There was no departure for Van de Beek, however, who is still under contract with the Red Devils until 2025.
In addition to the 19-time Dutch international, Juventus also want to acquire Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho in the winter.
Last summer, Van de Beek saw FC Lorient, Royal Antwerp and Anderlecht make unsuccessful attempts to take him on loan from Man Utd. The Dutchman remained at Old Trafford but has hardly featured in Erik ten Hag's plans. He has played just 21 minutes for United so far this term and has only been in the matchday squad six times.
Van de Beek heading for the exit
Van de Beek was acquired from Ajax for €39 million in the summer of 2020. After more than three years, in which the midfielder only made 62 appearances, his market value has fallen drastically. Van de Beek currently has an Estimated Transfer Value (eTV) of €7.2m.
It is unknown what asking price United are currently charging, but last summer, English media spoke of an amount of approximately €23m. Juventus would like to free Van de Beek from his misery, while the ex-Ajax player can also count on interest from Galatasaray, Real Sociedad, Inter and his name has also been mentioned at his former club.
The midfielder recently indicated in conversation with De Telegraaf that he was considering a winter departure. “There comes a time when you have to make a choice,” says Van de Beek. “I have to start playing matches very soon, if I can't do it at Man United, then at another club. I think this is a healthy ambition.”
In addition to the midfielder, Sancho is also on his way out of Man Utd since his run-in with Ten Hag that led to him being banished from the first-team squad. The expensive attacker has been eyed by Juventus for a while but also has Saudi suitors.
Varane is another Red Devils player who has recently been linked with a move. Bayern Munich and Saudi clubs are said to be interested in facilitating his arrival and, according to German media, the defender could be picked up for an amount of between €20m-30m. Reports in Italy now suggest he is also being eyed by Juventus.
