PSG close to reaching €25m agreement for Chelsea target - Romano
Paris Saint-Germain are set to hold further conversations with Brazilian club Corinthians this week, regarding their pursuit of Chelsea target Gabriel Moscardo.
The 18-year-old has agreed personal terms with Luis Enrique’s side and the Parisians are now working on the final details before the move is officially completed for a fee of €25 million.
Moscardo is keen on joining PSG and is set to reject the advances of Chelsea, who have expressed their desire to sign him for several months.
In fact, the Blues were close to signing Moscardo in November, when it was claimed an agreement had been reached between all parties.
However, PSG have now raced ahead and currently lead the way in the hunt for the Brazilian midfielder’s signature, with Chelsea set to miss out on one of their major transfer targets.
That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who has reported: “[I] understand PSG are set to meet with Corinthians again this week to discuss Gabriel Moscardo deal.
“Paris Saint-Germain agreed personal terms with Moscardo, now working to finalise deal with Corinthians. Fee remains in the region of €25m. More to follow.”
Who is Gabriel Moscardo?
Moscardo began his career with Atleta Cidadao before signing for the Corinthians academy. And in just five years, he progressed from the youth ranks to a regular spot in the first team.
He signed his first professional contract in 2021, which he later renewed. At just 17, he captained Corinthians' U21 team to the final of the FIFA Youth Cup in May, where he earned the accolade of Player of the Tournament.
His remarkable progress also led to a call-up to the Brazil U23 squad ahead of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, as well as huge interest from elite clubs in Europe.
Now, it appears as though he will be playing his club football in Paris next year too.
