Osimhen drops social media hint that Chelsea fans will LOVE
Victor Osimhen has given Chelsea fans hope after dropping a social media hint regarding a possible move to Stamford Bridge.
The 25-year-old has been identified as one of the Blues’ key transfer targets ahead of the January window, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side reportedly in the market for a marquee new centre-forward.
Although Nicolas Jackson has netted a respectable seven goals in the Premier League this season, Chelsea have missed the most big chances of any club in the English top flight and are currently 10th in the table.
They also have the second-highest xG in the Premier League (behind Newcastle) with 37.9, but they have only scored the ninth-most goals in the division (30).
Despite the ludicrous amount of money spent since Todd Boehly became owner in 2022, the west London club are set to dip back into the transfer market in January.
Viktor Gyokeres, Antonio Nusa and Ivan Toney are all admired, as per multiple reports, but Osimhen is seen as Chelsea’s number one target.
Now, the Nigeria international has provided Blues fans with hope that he will join their club in January.
Victor Osimhen to leave Napoli for Chelsea?
Osimhen received a happy birthday message from X user @OGBdeyforyou in the early hours of December 29. The Tweet read: “Happy birthday Victor Osimhen, pls come and rescue Chelsea soon” accompanied by two emojis and a picture of Osimhen in Chelsea’s 2011-12 home shirt.
The Napoli star then replied to this Tweet with two red love hearts and a prayer emoji.

It is not the only birthday message that Osimhen has replied to online, but it will certainly encourage Chelsea fans, many of whom are desperate for him to join their club in January.
It comes after the 25-year-old signed a contract extension at Napoli on December 23; his current deal now runs until 2026.
Osimhen has scored eight goals and provided three assists in 18 games in all competitions so far this season, but will miss the majority of action in January due to his involvement with Nigeria at the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.
FootballTransfers understand that Chelsea also want to sign Sporting CP defender Ousmane Diomande, but any pursuit will likely have to wait until next summer.
