Manchester United's interest in Serhou Guirassy is getting increasingly more concrete as talks over a deal have already been held, according to a report.

The Stuttgart sensation is enjoying a spectacular campaign, having racked up an incredible 16 goals in just 11 Bundesliga outings. Thanks to the exceptional form of Guirassy and Brighton loanee Deniz Undav, who has been prolific despite limited minutes, Stuttgart are this season's surprise package and are in contention for a European spot despite more often than not battling relegation in recent years.

Guirassy's exploits have caught the attention of Europe's elite. In addition to his goals, the fact that he has a bargain release clause makes him an attractive January option as he will be available for just €17.5 million. His refusal to rule out a winter departure in media interviews has only fueled speculation about his future.

On Friday, Italian media began claiming that the Guinean has had his head turned by AC Milan after they outlined their plans for the 27-year-old striker. However, it appears that they jumped the gun because reports in Germany now claim that a potential move of his to Man Utd is "getting hotter."

Man Utd keen

It has been known for some time that the Red Devils' interest in the forward is "serious" and Sky Germany now asserts that Man Utd have already inquired about his availability and familiarised themselves with the conditions of a potential January deal.

Talks are still at an early stage and far from an agreement, but Guirassy is said to be open to hearing what the Red Devils have to offer. However, it is claimed that his original plan of remaining with Stuttgart for the remainder of the season is as yet unchanged.

United's interest in Guirassy is unsurprising given the acute goalscoring struggles of Erik ten Hag's side. Big-money summer acquisition Rasmus Hojlund has been prolific in the Champions League but is still waiting for his first Premier League goal. Antony has not recorded a single goal contribution so far this term and Marcus Rashford only boasts two goals and four assists.
