West Ham and Borussia Dortmund have entered the race to sign Stuttgart hotshot Serhou Guirassy, according to reports.

The striker has been the biggest revelation of the season in the Bundesliga, firing Sebastian Hoeneß's side into the upper echelons of the table with his outrageous 16 goals in 12 games. His goalscoring exploits and cheap January release clause of just €17.5 million are making him one of the hottest properties in European football.

Both AC Milan and Manchester United have reportedly already taken concrete measures to recruit the Guinean in the winter, but recent reports in Germany have suggested that the 27-year-old's plan is to remain with Stuttgart for the rest of the campaign. This, however, looks increasingly unlikely as interest in his services ramps up, with the player previously refusing to rule out a move while speaking to the media.

Now, new claims have surfaced that link Guirassy to even more clubs, with TEAMtalk reporting that West Ham have entered the fray and made the striker a "key target" for the winter transfer window.

Dortmund also interested

In addition to West Ham, BILD asserts that Borussia Dortmund are also now in the race, with the sporting hierarchy of the club getting desperate because of the side's poor domestic form. As a Bundesliga rival, Dortmund would have to pay €20m to trigger Guirassy's release clause, though this is still seen as a bargain and they are ready to double his current salary.

However, the Black and Yellow already have three senior strikers on the books in Niclas Fullkrug, Youssoufa Moukoko and Sebastian Haller and would have to offload at least one of them first - and it won't be German national team striker Fullkrug.

Both Haller and Moukoko have struggled to perform this season and are contenders to depart in the winter, with the latter being a particularly interesting option as the wonderkid, who is still only 19, has regularly been linked with Premier League clubs.
