Man Utd flop Amrabat set for controversial move to hated rivals
Manchester United loanee Sofyan Amrabat's next move could be a controversial one as Juventus are now showing an interest in him.
The defensive midfielder has severely underwhelmed at Old Trafford. Chased by Erik ten Hag all summer, the Red Devils finally struck a deal with Fiorentina on Deadline Day, with the Moroccan arriving in Manchester to plenty of fanfare.
Yet, Amrabat - like most of his Man Utd teammates - has struggled to consistently perform this term. The 27-year-old has looked a far cry from the all-action player who terrified the opposition at the 2022 World Cup and the expectation is that Man Utd will not trigger their buy option.
Indeed, there have been rumours that Amrabat could already be sent back to Fiorentina in January. Either way, he will eventually return to his parent club, but it seems that his next move is already in the works - and it won't go down well with supporters.
Amrabat to Juventus
According to TV Play, Juventus are showing a serious interest in acquiring the Moroccan's services. While the rivalry has somewhat cooled in light of Fiorentina losing their standing as one of Serie A's best teams, there is still no love lost between the Florence-based club and their Turin counterparts.
At this point, however, most Fiorentina fans perhaps won't even care after Amrabat did everything in his power to force a move in the summer. He has likely already squandered any goodwill he once had.
By moving to Juventus, he would follow in the footsteps of illustrious names such as Roberto Baggio, Giorgio Chiellini, Federico Chiesa and Dusan Vlahovic. The Bianconeri are still looking for a replacement for Paul Pogba, who is awaiting his punishment over his doping case, but Amrabat won't come cheap.
Fiorentina will likely demand in excess of €20 million for the Moroccan. The 27-year-old currently has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €19.5 million.
