Man Utd and Chelsea transfer plans threatened as Bayern plot double deal
Bayern Munich hold a credible interest in signing sought-after Bundesliga stars Serhou Guirassy and Jonathan Tah.
The German giants are keen to strengthen their side after having somewhat surprisingly only been second-best in the Bundesliga so far this term. Bayer Leverkusen entered the league's winter break in top spot and they are the only side in Europe's top five divisions who are yet to taste defeat this season.
Another surprise package this campaign has been Stuttgart. Sebastian Hoeneß's side sit third after battling the drop last term and their stunning form has been in large part due to the goalscoring exploits of Serhou Guirassy. The Guinean striker has notched 17 goals in 14 games and is a wanted man due to his release clause.
Guirassy can be signed for just €17.5 million in January and €20m in the summer. Man Utd have been frequently linked with the 27-year-old, but now Bayern have entered the fray, according to BILD. Though the interest is concrete, the outlet acknowledges that a January deal is tricky for Bayern, not least because Guirassy will be at AFCON for the next month or so.
Bayern also want Tah
Additionally, BILD also reiterate that the Bavarians are keen on Jonathan Tah. The Leverkusen vice-captain has impressed this term despite having wanted to leave the club in the summer.
It is a similar story here too with a January move likely being too difficult to achieve. In the summer, Tah will have an €18m release clause, which will make him an attractive option. Head coach Thomas Tuchel is considering switching to a back three and the Leverkusen star would be ideal for that system.
Tah has recently been linked with the likes of Chelsea and West Ham as a relatively affordable defensive reinforcement, while FootballTransfers has been able to reveal that Newcastle also hold an interest. However, Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes has already made it very clear that Bayer 04 won't sell any key players in the midst of a title challenge.
