The 10 biggest spenders of the January transfer window
Manchester City have currently spent the most amount of money of any club in world football during the 2025 January transfer window.
Pep Guardiola’s side have made a statement of intent in the market, following a string of poor results to end their year, by splashing an initial €158 million on Omar Marmoush (Eintracht Frankfurt), Abdukodir Khusanov (RC Lens), Vitor Reis (Palmeiras) and Juma Bah (Real Valladolid).
That figure could rise even higher with add-ons, while Man City are also interested in bringing in a new central midfielder amid Rodri’s injury, although they may be forced to wait until the summer.

Paris Saint-Germain have racked up the second-highest total spend during the January window, thanks to their €70m purchase of Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
The Ligue 1 giants failed to sign Kvaratskhelia last summer, but they have finally added him to their squad after agreeing a €70m deal with Napoli. The Georgian is PSG’s only January arrival so far.
In third place is RB Leipzig. They have spent €50m to turn Xavi Simons’ loan deal from Paris Saint-Germain into a permanent one, while they have signed Wolfsburg wing-back Ridle Baku.
