Romano puts Arsenal and Chelsea on RED ALERT over Osimhen
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the transfer decision of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, who is wanted by the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal ahead of the summer transfer window.
Osimhen has been associated with a move to the Premier League for months and in an interview with CBS Sports hinted that he is open to leaving Serie A this summer, despite signing a new contract with Napoli.
Romano has confirmed this is the case in a statement that will set the Premier League on fire.
“What’s the decision? The decision is to leave in the summer transfer window,” Romano told his YouTube channel. “Osimhen, from what I’m hearing, believes his cycle, his extraordinary job at Napoli, winning the Scudetto, scoring a lot of goals, is now over. He will complete the season at Napoli and then leave in the summer. This is the priority of the player.
“In January, he’s going nowhere, but in the summer there’s going to be interest from Saudi again, interest from Chelsea, let’s keep them in the conversation for Victor Osimhen, and from Arsenal too.
“For sure Victor Osimhen, with this important statement, this bomb, has made it clear he’s going to be available on the market in the summer transfer window to try a new experience.”
Osimhen makes transfer statement
Osimhen, who is the dream option at both Arsenal and Chelsea, is set to cost €120 million, the value of the release clause in his new Napoli deal, after issuing a statement on Tuesday that suggested but did not confirm that he is open to a move.
“At the end of the season, I think I already made up my mind,” the Nigeria international said. “I already know what I wanna do with my career, since I've started, I've been the one taking my own decision and everything is working out well for me. Even though when I started it, it didn't go so well as planned.
“But I already have my plan, I already know what I want to do, the next step I want to take. So for now I just want to finish the season strong, go relax somewhere with my daughter, and then finally come up with the decision I've already made.”
