Man Utd 'insist' on making €100m defender Ratcliffe's first signing
Manchester United keep pushing to secure the signature of Bremer, according to Italian media.
Erik ten Hag is keen to overhaul his defence in the summer. The Dutchman will use the incoming funds of Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS to reshape his backline, which could also see several big-name players such as Raphael Varane, whose contract is expiring, and former captain Harry Maguire depart.
On the incoming front, the Red Devils have been linked with countless potential options, most notably with Jean-Clair Todibo of INEOS-owned Nice. The Frenchman recently addressed the transfer interest in him and he certainly did not rule out a summer move, insisting that "you never know what’s going to happen" in football.
However, another player has recently become the subject of increasingly forceful links with a switch to Old Trafford. The man in question is Juventus star Bremer, who has established himself as one of Serie A's best centre-backs in recent seasons.
Juventus' €100m price tag
According to Calciomercato, Man Utd are 'insisting' on securing the Brazilian's signature, having identified him as an ideal candidate for this summer's defensive rebuild. The problem is that the 26-year-old will be anything but cheap.
Juventus rewarded their star man with a fresh long-term deal and a bumper new salary in December, which means that they will be under no pressure to sell in the upcoming transfer window unless someone matches their valuation. The above-mentioned report asserts that the Bianconeri have slapped a €100m price tag on his head.
The Bremer situation could certainly be one to watch for the summer. A recent report claimed that Juventus could cash in on several exciting young players to raise some €100m in funds for an elite midfielder such as Teun Koopmeiners from Atalanta, but perhaps selling Bremer and keeping the highly-rated prospects would be a wiser choice.
