Isak Hansen-Aaroen is set to move to Werder Bremen after failing to agree new terms with Manchester United, FootballTransfers has been told.

Sources inform us that the youngster won’t sign a new deal regardless of the terms that have been offered at Old Trafford. The move is likely to be a permanent sale this window if the bid is higher than the expected compensation fee, which Man Utd are set to receive in the summer.

The club have injected favourable terms including significant add-ons, a high sell-on clause, and matching rights in the deal.

The Norwegian midfielder is set to travel today and undergo a medical in Germany before the transfer window closes. The 19-year-old had negotiations for a new contract, with his current one set to expire in six months, but talks broke down.

Hansen-Aaroen, desiring to make his mark at Man Utd, was reportedly frustrated by the limited first-team opportunities granted to him. Even though the club wanted him to sign a fresh deal of four-and-a-half years, he felt it was time to move on, being unconvinced about his pathway to the first team. Initially, Man Utd hoped he would sign a new contract this month and then be sent on loan.

He trained with the first team multiple times this month but was not in the side and omitted from the squad for the FA Cup victories over Wigan and Newport County, while other academy graduates were given opportunities.

Who are Man Utd playing next?

Man Utd are set to play Wolves at Molineux Stadium this evening. A win would see the side leapfrog Brighton and Newcastle and land in 7th spot in the table.

They would be level on points with West Ham, who are in sixth and have a greater goal difference.

Man Utd have made a series of outgoings this window but have not brought anyone in to bolster the side. Like most Premier League clubs this window, they have been hamstrung by FFP rules.
