Chelsea flop Mudryk DEVASTATED Arsenal transfer fell through
Mykhailo Mudryk was absolutely shattered when he found out his Arsenal transfer collapsed, according to a report.
The Ukraine star has been nothing short of a flop for Chelsea since his move to Stamford Bridge in January 2023. Though he finally found the back of the net again against Championship side Leeds United in the FA Cup - only his fifth goal in a Blues shirt - it will do little to change his status as an underwhelming signing.
Chelsea showed themselves willing to shell out €70 million on the then-Shakhtar Donetsk star, with the deal potentially rising to €100m. Had things panned out slightly differently, Mudryk could be wearing Arsenal's kit these days and his Premier League career may have been a lot more successful under Mikel Arteta.

Prior to his move to Chelsea, it was actually the Gunners who were keen to sign the 23-year-old and it looked as though they would get their man. Eventually, however, the deal fell through and Chelsea hijacked it, though Mudryk's preferred destination was always the Emirates.
Mudryk devastated
According to The Athletic, the collapse of his move to Arsenal left Mudryk shattered. "When the deal did not materialise, Arsenal’s understanding was that the player was devastated," it is claimed.
The Gunners could have offered the Ukrainian a much more stable environment and, crucially, the plan was to show patience with him, rather than immediately thrusting him into the limelight as eventually happened at Chelsea.

Intriguingly, the report asserts that Mudryk still has admirers at Arsenal, echoing a claim by Shakhtar's CEO that Mudryk is the "the most talented and unique player in the world." However, the 'ship has sailed' regarding a potential transfer to north London, putting to bed the rumours that recently cropped up claiming that the Gunners were plotting a fresh move for the Chelsea flop.
Mauricio Pochettino and company are still keeping the faith in Mudryk, as illustrated by their emphatic response to Bayern Munich's January enquiry, but the winger must step up his game or risk getting replaced by the free-spending Blues.
