Nottingham Forest make late move for former Arsenal striker - Romano
Nottingham Forest trying to explore a move for former Arsenal prodigy Chuba Akpom in the final hours of the transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Ajax player is under serious consideration on deadline day, with the Reds trying to bolster their attack. The 28-year-old has only been at the Dutch giants for only six months but now may face the exit.
Akpom has made 20 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring nine goals, which has led to several Premier League sides being interested in the forward.
It’s believed that Ajax are reluctant to let Akpom leave the Johan Cruyff Arena but a decent offer could tempt them. Fulham have also been linked to Akpom but now it appears that their sights are set on Armando Broja.
Chelsea had stated that the Albanian forward would not go less than €46million, but on the final day of the window, they briefed that they would be open to a loan deal. It is now believed that the Slough-born player will have to choose between the West London side and Wolves.

Forest have already brought in Mat Sels, Gio Reyna, and Rodrigo Ribeiro, in this window as they look to ensure that they are not dragged into a relegation battle.
When did Chuba Akpom join Arsenal?
Akpom joined Arsenal when he was just six years old, back in 2013. After a series of loans away, including Brentford and Coventry City, he made the permanent move to Greek Super League club PAOK Salonika.
He signed for Championship outfit Middlesbrough in 2020, before making a move to Ajax in August, in a deal worth €12.3m, potentially rising to €14.3m with add-ons. Akpom has scored 85 goals across 330 matches in his career.
