Angry Todd Boehly puts SEVEN Chelsea flops up for sale
Todd Boehly plans to cull the Chelsea squad this summer after another disastrous season.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Boehly is furious at the performances of the team this season and will oversee the sale of a host of first-team squad players.
Seven players have already seen their fates sealed.
What players will leave Chelsea this summer?
Lewis Hall will see his transfer to Newcastle become permanent at the end of the season, having initially moved there last summer on a loan deal.
Fellow left-back Marc Cucurella will also be sold after a disastrous two seasons following his big-money transfer from Brighton.
Ian Maatsen, yet another left-back, will be offloaded when he returns from his loan at Borussia Dortmund.
Trevoh Chalobah has barely had a kick this season and is surplus to requirements. The young English centre-back will be sold, with strong interest from abroad and in particular in Italy.
Talking of Italy, on-loan Roma striker Romelu Lukaku has no future at Stamford Bridge. A permanent move to Roma seems unlikely but Chelsea will still find a buyer this summer. A transfer to Saudi Arabia appears the most likely destination.
Chelsea attempted to sell Armando Broja in January and will do so again in the summer when his loan move at Fulham ends.
Finally, Chelsea will also sell Conor Gallagher despite his good performances this season. The midfielder offers Chelsea the opportunity to raise cash amidst financial fair play problems. The 24-year-old’s contract also expires in 2025.
Aside from these seven players, there are a numerous other players whose futures are in doubt. Thiago Silva’s contract expires and he turns 40 later this year. Meanwhile, there are question marks over the futures of the likes of Mykhailo Mudryk, Noni Madueke and Reece James among others.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino is also at risk of the sack before the summer transfer window opens.
