Gyokeres, 25, has 36 goals and 14 assists in all competitions this season, following his move from Coventry City, and he has been named as the Gunners’ priority target for the summer transfer window, as exclusively reported by FootballTransfers.

The Sweden international has also been linked with a move to Chelsea, but we understand that Arsenal are currently leading the race to sign him.

Mikel Arteta’s side have been heavily linked with acquiring a new number nine during the upcoming window and four prevalent names have been touted as possible options: Ivan Toney, Benjamin Sesko, Victor Osimhen and Gyokeres.

FootballTransfers has been informed that Sesko is under consideration by Arsenal, although Newcastle United are also keen on bringing in the RB Leipzig forward, while Chelsea are seemingly winning the race to sign Osimhen.

Toney is also a target, but it remains to be seen how much Brentford will demand for his services this summer.

Arsenal fans want Viktor Gyokeres

FootballTransfers posted a poll on X (formerly known as Twitter) asking Arsenal fans whether they would rather sign Gyokeres, Toney, Sesko or Osimhen this summer and the answer was resounding.

45.5% of voters selected Gyokeres, while Osimhen was a distant second with 27.5% of the votes. Ivan Toney won 16.1% of the votes, and Sesko was fourth with just 10.9%.

Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah have shared minutes through the middle at Arsenal this season, but Arteta is targeting an upgrade in that area of the pitch this summer.

We understand that Nketiah could leave Arsenal at the end of the season, with Brentford and Crystal Palace interested, while the Gunners may promote Mika Biereth into the first-team when he returns from his loan spell at Sturm Graz.
