The Bees had reached a €30m agreement on Sunday for the winger but the move stalled owing to complicatons around the player's condition. Brentford were open to allowing the 18-year-old to remain on loan at the Belgian club for the remainder of the season, but complications arose during Nusa's medical examination on Monday, revealing concerns about a cartilage issue in his knee and additional problems with his back.

But we are told that Brentford are now seeking to renegotiate the deal but at a price below €30m. Whether Club Brugge will agree to remains uncertain at this point.

In the earlier stages of the transfer window, Tottenham had engaged in discussions for Nusa, in a deal that would also involve him staying at Brugge until the season's conclusion. Spurs had previously explored signing the Norwegian international in the preceding summer, as did Chelsea.

How good is Antonio Nusa?

Nusa's performance this season for Club Brugge has been notable, amassing four goals and three assists in 28 appearances. Since joining from Norwegian side Stabaek in the summer of 2021, he has accumulated a total of 64 appearances for the Belgian club.

As we previously reported, Brentford also made a move for Real Betis' winger Assane Diao, but they did not meet the release clause valued at €30m and talks broke down.

Brentford have endured a testing season - with the club sitting 15th in the Premier League table, having lost ten games and drawing four out of 20.
