Marc Cucurella is expected to be one of multiple big-name Chelsea stars to be sold this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

As revealed by Football Insider (6 March), the Blues are planning to sell up to four senior stars before July to meet their Profit and Sustainability requirements.

It is believed that the former Brighton star, 25, is set to be one of the players sacrificed to help the club alleviate their financial pressures.

While Chelsea will listen to offers for Cucurella, they are not expecting to recoup anywhere near the reported £63million they paid the Seagulls in the summer of 2022.

Well-placed sources have told Football Insider that Mauricio Pochettino’s side would accept offers between £30-35million – representing a potential loss of up to £33million.

The Spaniard has failed to impress the Stamford Bridge faithful following his mega-money move and has struggled to recapture his exceptional form during his time at Brighton.

Across 45 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea, he has bagged two assists from left-back and right-back.

Cucurella has also had repeat injury issues during his spell in West London having missed 25 games.

He was sidelined with an ankle injury for a nine-game stretch between mid-December and mid-February but made the bench for their 2-2 draw against Brentford on Saturday (2 March).
