Leandro Trossard gave Mikel Arteta's side the lead in the fourth minute, before Benjamin White and Kai Havertz both netted braces to seal a memorable victory at the Emirates Stadium.

Chelsea mustered just one shot on target during the entire game, while Arsenal racked up 10 by comparison.

The result leaves the Stamford Bridge side ninth in the Premier League table, 19 points behind Aston Villa in fourth.

While Chelsea have already amassed more than the 44 points they managed last season, when they finished a miserable 12th, the humiliating defeat to Arsenal has piled the pressure on Pochettino.

Indeed, many Blues fans have urged their club to sack the Argentine.

Some of the pressure on Pochettino would have been relieved had they managed to defeat Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final, but they suffered a 2-1 loss, while they also lost against Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final.

So with scrutiny mounting over the former Tottenham and PSG boss, how much would it cost the Blues to get rid of him?

Pochettino under pressure

Pochettino signed a two-year contract when he was appointed by Chelsea in the summer of 2023, meaning that he only has 14 months of his deal remaining. There is the option of an additional year, but that appears unlikely to be taken up at this time.

If Chelsea were to pay Pochettino’s remaining 14 months off, it would cost them approximately £12.2 million.

This is based on Pochettino receiving an reported wage of £200,000 per week.

Chelsea may not take decisive action against Pochettino just yet, but there is no doubt that pressure is building on the Argentine.
