Man Utd and Dortmund agree on Jadon Sancho transfer fee
Borussia Dortmund are willing to pay Manchester United's asking price for Jadon Sancho, according to German media.
The Red Devils outcast has seemingly overcome his form slump and is now showing encouraging signs on loan at Dortmund. Sancho put in so much effort against PSV in the Champions League last week that he injured himself and was thus unable to feature against Eintracht Frankfurt at the weekend.
Borussia Dortmund are keen to make Sancho's loan permanent, but they realise that this will be a 'mammoth task,' in the words of Sky Germany reporter Patrick Berger. However, his colleague Florian Plettenberg has revealed that a deal is possible.

First of all, Sancho is open to staying in Germany. The winger is happy at Dortmund and has a coach who actually believes in him and allows him to express himself on the pitch. The 23-year-old would have no qualms about extending his stay back at his old stomping ground, especially if Erik ten Hag keeps his Man Utd job.
Matching valuations?
More important than just the sentimental side is, of course, the financial side. This is where issues could arise, though it seems not in terms of Sancho's value if German media is to be believed.
A recent BILD report asserted that Man Utd are willing to cut their losses and incur a sizeable loss on their €85 million Sancho investment, supposedly setting an asking price of €35m-€40m for the tricky attacker. Now, Plettenberg claims that this is also the fee Dortmund would be prepared to pay to sign Sancho permanently.

The bigger issue, therefore, would be Sancho's wages. The winger reportedly earns £300,000 (€350k) per week at Man Utd, which is simply not something that Dortmund can afford to pay in full. Sancho would have to take a sizable pay cut to join the Black and Yellow permanently.
There is of course also some uncertainty at both clubs that could yet blow his future wide open. Both coaches, Edin Terzic and Erik ten Hag, are under pressure, with murmurs growing louder that they will depart their respective clubs at the end of the season.
It is also not yet clear what Sir Jim Ratcliffe's stance on Sancho is, so there is still some way to go before Dortmund fans can dream of keeping their erstwhile wonderkid for the foreseeable future.
