Mac Allister admits SHOCK transfer 'desire'
Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister has admitted that he would like to return to Boca Juniors at some point in his career.
The Argentina international moved to Anfield from Brighton & Hove Albion last summer and he lifted his first piece of silverware at Liverpool following the Reds’ 1-0 win over Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final.
Mac Allister, 25, joined Brighton from Argentinos Juniors in 2019, but he spent six months on loan at Boca Juniors before linking up with his new Seagulls team-mates. The loan spell was meant to last a full season, however he was recalled early by Brighton.
The Argentine made just 20 appearances on loan at Boca Juniors, scoring two goals and providing four assists during that time.
Now, Mac Allister has admitted that he would like to return to the club he supported growing up before ending his playing career.
What has Alexis Mac Allister said?
The Liverpool midfielder told TyC Sports (via AnfieldWatch): “I don’t like to promise that I will return because the reality is that there is still a long way to go, but anything can happen.
“Obviously, the desire is there, especially because my time in Boca was very short and I would have liked to be there more, but time will tell if I have that possibility and they give it to me.”
Mac Allister’s father and his brother, Kevin, have also played for Boca Juniors, with the Mac Allister siblings both on loan at the club at the same time in 2019.

The Liverpool star still has four-and-a-half years on his contract at Anfield after signing a deal that runs until 2028 after joining the club from Brighton.
So far, Mac Allister has played 30 times for Jurgen Klopp’s side, with six goal contributions since his summer move.
