Liverpool will ‘do whatever it takes’ to sign Man City target from Bayern Munich
Liverpool are prepared to do ‘whatever it takes’ to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich this summer, according to reports from Germany.
The 29-year-old has struggled to find consistency for Der Rekordmeister alongside Leon Goretzka, with Aleksandar Pavlovic emerging as a preferred choice for Thomas Tuchel to start in midfield.
Consequently, Kimmich has been playing as a right-back in recent weeks, where he’s shown glimmers of better form. This has led to interest from Manchester City and the Reds.

Liverpool were linked to the German last year and now Bild say that the club are the favourites to sign Kimmich this summer, regardless of Jugen Klopp’s departure which is set to happen at the end of the season. It is understood that the Premier League outfit are looking to add further reinforcement to their midfield even though they bought the likes of Dominik Szoboszlai, Ryan Gravenberch, and Alexis Mac Allister.
Does Joshua Kimmich want to leave Bayern Munich?
However, it’s thought that Kimmich is not desperate to leave Bayern and Tuchel's impending departure could see the player remain at the Allianz Arena beyond the end of the campaign.

Kimmich is out of contract in 2025 but there have been talks about whether Bayern will offer him a new one. He recently spoke about the suggestion that a new deal is in the works, saying to Bild.
“No one has spoken to me yet. We’ll see what happens. For me the most important thing is that I perform well, I can’t influence the rest.”
“Yes [I am comfortable at Bayern]. And in Munich - I have a few kids here. It’s not so bad here - even though we haven’t been quite as successful in terms of football in recent years. I have to say very clearly that I haven’t gone to bed happy every night for the past two or three years.”
