Amrabat on the move AGAIN as Juventus eye Man Utd flop

Manchester United will NOT be taking up an option to sign Sofyan Amrabat at the end of the season and the midfielder could well be on the move from Fiorentina to Juventus instead according to a new report in Italy.

Amrabat, 27, was pursued by United manager Erik ten Hag, who also coached him at Utrecht, throughout last summer’s transfer window, eventually securing the Morocco international on a season-long loan deal for a fee of €10 million on deadline day.

An option was included in the agreement that could have seen United pay Fiorentina another €20m to convert the loan into a permanent contract.

However things have not gone to plan for Amrabat and staying at Old Trafford looks a remote possibility.

He hasn’t started a Premier League match since the middle of December and has even been shunted into an uncomfortable left-back role with Ten Hag reeling from injuries to Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw.

It was revealed by Fabrizio Romano two weeks ago that United had REJECTED the chance to cut the Morocco World Cup star’s loan deal short in order to allow him to link up with either Barcelona or Juve.

Amrabat to be dumped by Man Utd

Amrabat will see out the season with the Red Devils with considerable uncertainty over what comes next.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Amrabat is now feeling “nostalgic” for Italy and Serie A and wants to play his football there next season.

Fiorentina will welcome him back at the end of June and he has another 12 months left on his Viola contract.

A move to Juventus could now open up, with the Italian giants more optimistic about their financial picture since securing qualification for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

The added cash boost, thought to be around €50m, means the Bianconeri can expand their transfer budget with midfield a priority area.

Paul Pogba has been banned for four years due to a drugs ban while Adrien Rabiot is out of contract at the end of the season.

Amrabat would fit the bill and is described by the report as an “obsession” of the club’s sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli, who also wanted the Dutch-born destroyer while he was in charge at Napoli.
