Man Utd midfielder Van de Beek may not return - Romano
Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek could still face an exit from Old Trafford this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Dutchman went out on loan to Eintracht Frankfurt in the January transfer window, but he has struggled to find his feet there, too.
Now Romano has reported that, despite reports, there’s still no decision made on his long-term future just yet.

Speaking exclusively to CaughtOffside, Romano said that it was not yet clear whether Van de Beek will stay at Frankfurt beyond his current loan spell until the end of the season.
The former Ajax star failed to find minutes at Man Utd and found himself frozen out of the side. A move away to the Bundesliga has sadly not offered the rejuvenation he had hoped it might, leaving his future highly uncertain.
What did Fabrizio Romano say about Donny van de Beek’s future?
And Romano has stated that there is nothing set in stone regarding his future. He wrote: “Another United story doing the rounds involves Donny van de Beek, currently on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt.

“Despite what others are reporting, though, I’m told no decision has been made at this stage. There has been no communication on player side or club side so far, so we’ll have to wait and see if he stays there or returns to Old Trafford.”
There was a report from Bild which suggested that Frankfurt did not wish to activate the £8milllion clause to make his move to the German outfit permanent. Van de Beek has made six appearances for Frankfurt and was left out of their Europa Conference League squad last month amid poor form.
Head coach Dino Toppmoller said of the player’s future recently: "He's only played a total of four games in the last two years, so it won't happen overnight. But I have 100 per cent confidence in his quality, he'll definitely help us in the second half of the season. I told Donny that I was sorry but also what I expected from him now."
