Man Utd's Branthwaite plans becoming clear after update on €70m target
Gleison Bremer is not considered a major target for Manchester United, according to a report.
The Red Devils will overhaul their defence in the summer. Thanks to the funds provided by new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Erik ten Hag - or whoever else will be in charge next season - will have money to spend to rejig Man Utd's backline.
The Manchester giants' supposed targets are manifold ahead of the upcoming transfer window. While Jean-Clair Todibo had long been considered a top target, the links to the Frenchman have grown somewhat cold in recent weeks despite the fact that Ratcliffe also owns Todibo's club Nice.

Instead, much of the talk has been about the likes of Matthijs de Ligt, Gleison Bremer and Jarrad Branthwaite. However, if recent news is anything to go by, it is Everton's Branthwaite who will be the Red Devils' priority target - as confirmed by FootballTransfers.
De Ligt has already squashed talk of a summer exit from Bayern Munich and a fresh report now claims Gleison Bremer is not considered an important target by the Man Utd hierarchy.
Bremer not an option?
At least that is according to GIVEMESPORT, which has sought to pour cold water on the persistent links with the Juventus star. It is claimed that the Brazilian is not one of the 'first-choice targets' of the Premier League side.
Though the report acknowledges that it is not impossible for this state of affairs to change, it is expected that Branthwaite will be pursued ahead of Bremer as a top summer target. The 21-year-old is considered the 'standout' defensive option by club chiefs.

FootballTransfers exclusively revealed two weeks ago that Everton will demand £75 million (€87.5m) for the centre-back, making him a fair bit more expensive than Bremer, whose asking price reportedly stands at €70m.
