Ramsdale close to Arsenal EXIT as Gunners rival Liverpool for LaLiga star
Arsenal have started planning for life after Aaron Ramsdale, with the Gunners reportedly interested in signing Villarreal goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen as a back-up to David Raya.
Raya, 28, is currently on loan at the Emirates Stadium from Brentford, but Arsenal will make the deal permanent for a reported €32 million this summer.
The Spain international has usurped Ramsdale as Mikel Arteta’s first-choice goalkeeper - something FootballTransfers exclusively reported would happen before his arrival was confirmed - and he has kept 12 clean sheets in the Premier League so far this season.

With Raya set to become a permanent Arsenal player this summer, Ramsdale is expected to leave the club in order to become a number one once again.
Chelsea and Newcastle United have both been linked with a move for the Englishman, although a move to St James’ Park is considered to be a more likely eventuality as things stand.

Filip Jorgensen to Arsenal?
FootballTransfers understands that Ajax’s Diant Ramaj has been identified as a possible replacement for Ramsdale, while HITC’s Graeme Bailey has now reported that Arsenal are among the clubs interested in Jorgensen.
Manchester City, Liverpool, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Newcastle are reportedly also monitoring the Villarreal shot-stopper, whose current contract with the Spanish side is due to expire in 2027.
Jorgensen, 21, has conceded 52 goals in 29 LaLiga games so far this season, keeping four clean sheets, but his potential has caught the eye of several top Premier League clubs and he is viewed as a potential back-up to Raya by Arsenal.

The Denmark U21 international, who was born in Sweden, joined Villarreal’s youth side from Mallorca in 2015 and he has emerged as their first-choice ‘keeper this season, having spent the 2022-23 campaign in between the sticks for Villarreal’s B team.
Jorgensen currently has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €8.7 million, which has increased dramatically from just €1.1m in August 2023.
