How Frenkie de Jong could send Joshua Kimmich to Arsenal
Bayern Munich have entered the race to sign Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong, according to reports in Spain.
The Netherlands international has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United since Erik ten Hag’s appointment at Old Trafford, but he has continually stressed that he is happy in Catalunya.
However, interest from Bayern could potentially turn his head, with the Bavarians interested in pursuing a deal this summer, as per Relevo.

The Spanish outlet have reported that Bayern will have around €150 million to spend on new signings during the upcoming summer transfer window, while that figure will increase depending on the funds raised through player sales.
According to Relevo, Bayern are interested in signing Barcelona duo Ronald Araujo and De Jong as they prepare for life without Thomas Tuchel. The current Bayern boss has revealed he will be stepping down at the end of the season and the hunt to find his successor has begun.
Julian Nagelsmann has committed his future to the Germany national team, meaning many consider Roberto De Zerbi to be the favourite for the job.

However, Bayern’s pursuit of a new manager will not impact their interest in De Jong, with the club long-term admirers of the Dutch star.
With De Jong on Bayern’s transfer wish-list, it could help Arsenal land Joshua Kimmich.
Joshua Kimmich to Arsenal?
Arsenal are in the hunt for a new midfielder amid the uncertain futures of Jorginho and Thomas Partey, and several names have been touted as possible summer arrivals.
Martin Zubimendi, Douglas Luiz and Manu Kone are all admired by the Gunners, sources have informed us, while FootballTransfers understands that Bayern star Kimmich has been labelled as a major summer target by Mikel Arteta.
The Germany international has been used in a right-back role by Tuchel in recent weeks, despite the fact his desire is to play in midfield, and Bayern signing De Jong could inadvertently help Arsenal in their pursuit of Kimmich as the Bavarians may be willing to let him leave in the event De Jong joins.
