Romano reveals the truth behind Gabriel Jesus' Arsenal exit links
Arsenal will not offload Gabriel Jesus to fund the signing of a striker, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Brazilian forward has at times been hit-and-miss for Arsenal. Not always the most prolific, which prompted him to admit that scoring is not his strong suit, Jesus' future at the Emirates has been thrown into doubt in recent times.
This is because Arsenal are extremely keen to add a proven and reliable number nine in the summer transfer window. FootballTransfers exclusively revealed in March that Viktor Gyokeres is the Gunners' priority target and it appears as though the north London giants will have a free run at the Sporting CP striker.

On Monday, it was revealed that Chelsea have cooled their interest in Gyokeres and won't pursue him in the summer, while Man Utd appear to be more preoccupied with Ivan Toney. Gyokeres won't come cheap - he has a €100 million release clause - but Gabriel Jesus won't be sacrificed to fund his signing, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Jesus to stay at Arsenal
Speaking to CaughtOffside, the Italian transfer expert revealed that the acquisition of a star centre-forward will not influence Jesus' future at Arsenal. “I’ve spoken on here about Arsenal being likely to sign an important striker this summer, and Gabriel Jesus has spoken publicly about the situation and what he feels he can do to persuade the club not to make a signing in that position.”
“Still, I don’t think a new striker coming in would mean anything for Jesus. He’s an important player for Arsenal; also, they have a top roster for a top team and also with eight UCL games in the group next season plus all the other competitions you always need at least two important strikers."

"That’s why it doesn’t change anything for his future – Gabriel Jesus remains part of Arsenal's plans. Let’s see if he can recover his best fitness and then I’m sure he can show what an important role he can play in Mikel Arteta’s side.”
