Former Chelsea wonderkid Ethan Ampadu is impressing at Leeds United.

The Wales international is finally living up to the potential that prompted Chelsea to snap him up from Exeter City in 2017. Ampadu has been an ever-present for Daniel Farke's promotion-chasing Leeds in the Championship this season.

After several loans, the 23-year-old finally decided to leave Chelsea permanently last summer and headed to Elland Road for just a little over €8 million. The Welshman has since gone on to play every single minute of Championship football under Farke.

The defensive midfielder's form hasn't gone unnoticed. As per FootballTransfers' in-house Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) algorithm, Ampadu's stocks have gradually risen since joining Leeds and his value is currently peaking at €23.9 million. This means that he is now worth more than Mykhailo Mudryk.

Mudryk's Chelsea nightmare

The Ukrainian winger was signed in January 2023 for a whopping €70m, with the full financial package reportedly able to rise to €100m. Mudryk was handed a massive contract until 2030 and it was recently even extended by a further season.

On the pitch, however, the 23-year-old has been nothing short of a disaster. In 54 appearances for the Blues, Mudryk has notched just six goals and four assists, which is 19 fewer goal contributions than he managed in just 44 senior outings for Shakhtar Donetsk.

When Chelsea signed him, they massively paid over the odds to beat Arsenal to his signature. At the time, Mudryk was nowhere near worth the €70m initial fee, with his ETV sitting at just €3.2m in December 2022.

After the transfer, his value peaked at €43.3m due to the inflated fee involved and the length of his deal, but his performances have since ensured that his ETV has almost halved and currently sits at just €22.1m.
