REVEALED: Chelsea have made contact with Liverpool's Klopp successor
Liverpool are closing in on Ruben Amorim, but Chelsea have also enquired about him, according to a report.
The Sporting CP boss has become Europe's most in-demand coach after Xabi Alonso's announcement that he will stay at Bayer Leverkusen for at least another season.
Liverpool and Barcelona have been said to be heavily pushing for the 39-year-old tactician and Amorim himself certainly did little to banish the persistent speculation surrounding his future.

The Portuguese recently admitted that he can't guarantee that he will be in charge of Sporting next season and it seems that talks with Liverpool are now reaching a decisive phase. According to Portuguese media, the Reds have offered Amorim a three-year contract.
Now, Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg reports that the 39-year-old is keen on joining Liverpool and that only the final details still need to be ironed out before it can be called a done deal.

The German journalist also provided an update on links to other clubs. Plettenberg has revealed that Amorim was on Bayern Munich's shortlist to replace Thomas Tuchel, but that he was never a top option for the Bavarian giants.
Chelsea, it is claimed, enquired about the Sporting CP boss, but it seems that they will persist with Mauricio Pochettino for now despite the Blues' anything-but-impressive Premier League form this season.

Amorim was already under consideration for the Chelsea job last year following the sacking of Graham Potter, but the Blues ultimately settled on Pochettino. It is well-known that Chelsea are long-term admirers of the Portuguese, yet it seems that they will ultimately miss out on him.
Chelsea could be stuck with Pochettino, while one of the brightest up-and-coming minds is on his way to Anfield. There are some parallels to Jurgen Klopp here, whom Chelsea had wanted prior to his move to Liverpool. Indecisiveness could yet again come back to haunt them.
