Leipzig boss breaks silence on Chelsea & Man Utd target Olmo
RB Leipzig sporting director Rouven Schroder has admitted that Dani Olmo is in demand.
The Spanish playmaker has been in the news lately and not just for his spectacular goal against Brazil during the international break. FootballTransfers exclusively revealed last week that Chelsea had begun taking a keen interest in the 25-year-old.
Off the back of this, it was claimed that the Leipzig star had also become a target for Man Utd, although their pursuit of the attacking midfielder would make little sense given that Mason Mount is already nothing more than a luxury substitute at this point and Olmo would likely assume a similar role.

The Spaniard only penned a new deal with Leipzig last summer, but he nevertheless could be one to watch in the upcoming transfer window. Olmo has a €60 million release clause and he was already rumoured to be a high-profile target for clubs last year. Barcelona, for example, are desperate to bring their former La Masia product back, but they simply can't afford him.
Olmo's future
Now, Leipzig sporting director Rouven Schroder has given his thoughts on Olmo's future, admitting that he is a sought-after commodity. "All I can say is that he feels incredibly comfortable with us," he told Kicker. "He hasn't just been here for six months and isn't just passing through, he's been playing for us for four years now.
"On the other hand, it is clear that difference-makers like Dani are in demand everywhere. Ultimately, we are relaxed because we are enjoying what we have with the boys. And because we are convinced that nobody will give up what they have in Leipzig easily."

Olmo is under contract until 2027 and currently has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €29.2 million, down from a peak of €38.7m. The Spaniard has only played 20 games so far this season due to injury, notching seven goals and four assists.
