Five players who could replace Salah at Liverpool
It’s all change at Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp is set to leave Anfield after nine years while some of their star players are now well into their 30s.
One of which is Mohamed Salah, who has been extensively linked with a move away. The Reds turned down a world-record offer from the Saudi Pro League last year but this summer could be very different.
Here FootballTransfers has used SciSports to source some of the ideal names that could replace Salah ahead of next season.
'Mo Salah agrees transfer and will leave Liverpool this summer'
Yeremy Pino
Yeremy Pino is a right-winger for Villarreal who started to build a reputation as a dangerous attacking outlet last season. The Spaniard was linked with a switch to Manchester United last summer but no move took place.
He has remained with the Yellow Submarine but this campaign has been out of action owing to an ACL injury he sustained in November. Pino, once fully fit, remains a solid option for the Reds though.
Johan Bakayoko
Johan Bakayoko is likely the most popular candidate to replace Salah. The PSV winger remains one of the most dangerous players in Holland, with 26 goal contributions in 44 matches this term.
The Belgian is contracted until 2026 but it’s widely thought that he will be making the move this summer transfer window.
Crysencio Summerville
Crysencio Summerville has been admired by Liverpool since the January transfer window, as FootballTransfers reported earlier this month.
The club are keen on the Leeds attacker and it’s thought that, regardless of whether the Whites get promoted or not this season, he will have a number of elite sides across Europe pushing for his signature.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia finished last season with 12 Serie A goals and 13 assists. He did tail off towards the end of the season but now the Georgia international is back to his best.
Kvaratskhelia has 17 goal contributions in 29 matches - and though he is more of a left-winger, he’s good enough to be played on the opposite side and still thrive.
Alexis Saelemaekers
Alexis Saelemaekers is not quite at the level where he can directly replace Salah, but at 24 years old, there is still room for improvement.
He is currently on loan at Bologna from AC Milan - but Thiago Motta’s side have an option to buy the winger at the end of the season.
