When Kylian Mbappe completes his expected move to Real Madrid this summer, it could have the domino effect of taking Vinicius Jr to Liverpool for a club record fee.

That is according to a report from Sport, which reports that when Mbappe moves to Madrid it will raise doubts about Vinicius Jr’s future at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Mbappe plays in the same position as Vini Jr on the left-hand side of the attack, and while the Frenchman could potentially be shifted to the centre or right, his favoured role is on the left.

Sport reports that ideally Madrid do not want to sell Vini Jr, and want to pair him with Mbappe in attack.

However, Liverpool are reported to be ready to place a massive club record bid of €200 million to bring Vini Jr to Anfield as a replacement for Mo Salah.

There is a good chance that Liverpool will sanction a sale for Salah this summer.

Salah is believed to be the dream player for Saudi Pro League teams and there was a bid in excess of €100m turned down for the Egyptian last summer.

Another huge offer this summer could tempt the Reds to parting ways with their talisman, especially as he turns 32 soon.

They would then use that money to invest in Vini Jr.

Vini Jr has established himself as one of the best attackers in world football over the past few years, and he was a key player as Madrid won the 2022 Champions League.

He scored the winner in the final as Madrid beat Man Utd’s rivals Liverpool in the final.

Still only 23, this is Vinicius Jr’s sixth season at Madrid after joining the club as a teenager from Flamengo in 2017.

He has since scored 77 goals for the club in 253 appearances. He has been in inspired form this season with 18 goals in all competitions from 28 games, despite some injury problems.

Vinicius Jr has been less impressive for the Brazil national side as he has scored just three goals in 28 appearances.
