'Cost Liverpool the title' - Social media reacts to Darwin Nunez's wasteful performance vs Man Utd
Darwin Nunez has been heavily criticised on social media following his performance against Manchester United.
The Liverpool striker did provide the assist for Luis Diaz’s opening goal, but he was wasteful on several occasions as the Reds failed to put the game to bed despite a dominant first-half performance.
Man Utd failed to register a single shot on goal during the opening 45 minutes, however they only went into the interval with a 1-0 deficit due to extremely poor finishing from Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Nunez was one of the players at fault and the Uruguyan’s woes in front of goal continued in the second-half. Liverpool were able to carve through Man Utd at will on numerous occasions, but the final pass or shot was often poor and Nunez was responsible more than most.
He was substituted for Cody Gakpo in the x minute with Liverpool chasing the game following goals from Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo.
Nunez has 18 goals and 13 assists in all competitions so far this season, but he was wasteful against Liverpool and his tally of 24 big chances missed in the 2023-24 Premier League campaign is the second most of any player.

You see what I mean about Darwin Nunez?
No amount of goals and assists will convince me he’s good.
Half of the strikers in the league playing in a squad that creates as many chances as Liverpool, they triple his output.— B. (@InvertTheWing) April 7, 2024
Darwin Nunez should wear a question mark instead of a number.

People were genuinely trying to say that Darwin Nunez is better than Alexander Isak with a straight face. Have a day off.
