Liverpool have been left angry with the manner in which Luis Diaz has conducted himself in recent weeks but are still ready to open contract talks with the winger.
Real Madrid and PSG have both been linked with a move for the winger in recent weeks, despite the 27-year-old still having three years to run on his contract with Liverpool.
The player’s father has stated that his son could one day be tempted with a move to LaLiga, adding fuel to the rumours that suggest Diaz is unsettled on Merseyside.

“In the end it didn’t happen, but hope has not yet been lost. He is playing and the clubs are active,” Mane Diaz told Cadena Ser in March when asked about his son’s previously failed switch to Real Madrid.
Liverpool have been left angry at how this situation has evolved, according to HITC, with the sense that Diaz’s entourage have been instigating these rumours in order to improve his negotiating position at the club.
It is claimed that the Colombia winger, who was signed from Porto in January 2022 for €47 million, has approached the Reds’ management and has asked for a new contract.

Liverpool are said to have been “shocked” by Diaz’s stance given he has a deal until 2027.
It is added that they are not “overly impressed” by the tactics they believe he has used to get into this situation.
Diaz down Liverpool’s priority list
Liverpool have more important matters to deal with than the future of Diaz, who netted the opening goal in the Reds’ 2-2 draw with Manchester United last weekend, but that doesn’t mean that they will not open contract talks with him. It just means he is down their list of priorities.
Michael Edwards, who is back in the hotseat at Anfield in charge of overseeing the club’s footballing business, must first find a new manager to replace Jurgen Klopp at the end of the season and then begin negotiations with the player’s who are out of contract in 2025.
Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold all fall into this category and are considerably more important than Diaz, whose talks will have to wait for now.
