Five players who could join Man City this summer
It’s always hard to follow up on a perfect season.
Manchester City won the treble in 2022/24, becoming only the second English side to achieve the feat. It was a remarkable campaign and one which firmly etched Pep Guardiola’s name as one of the greatest ever coaches to take to the dugout.
But football is ever revolving and though the Citizens ultimately came out on top again in 2023/24, it was a much closer title race. With Arsenal going from strength to strength, City will also have to try to further bolster their side to defend their place in the sun.

Here are five players Man City could bring to the Etihad in the transfer window.
Dani Olmo - RB Leipzig
Man City are long-time admirers of RB Leipzig attacker Dani Olmo. Though his €60 million release clause has expired, he will be allowed to leave the club this summer for a sum in that ballpark.
Barcelona are currently the club working the hardest on securing his signature, but their financial problems are well known. If City were to decide to firm up their interest, Olmo may have no choice but to head to the Etihad despite wanting to return to Barcelona.

Gianluigi Donnarumma - PSG
Man City are open to selling goalkeeper Ederson, who has no shortage of suitors. However, the hefty price tag placed on him has so far deterred even Saudi giants Al-Nassr and Al-Ittihad.
Should the Cityzens manage to sell the Brazilian, they have been linked with PSG shot-stopper Gianluigi Donnarumma. Concrete interest in the Italian has been played down, but there is an admiration for him at City.
Bruno Guimaraes - Newcastle
FootballTransfers revealed that Man City have been weighing up whether to make a move for Bruno Guimaraes.
The Newcastle midfielder is renowned for his ability to control the tempo of the game, break up opposition attacks, and contribute offensively, with goals and assists. Pep Guardiola, in particular, is a big fan of the Brazil international's versatility and tenacity.
Jamal Musiala - Bayern Munich
One of the standout performers of Euro 2024, Jamal Musiala bounced back after a somewhat disappointing personal and very disappointing collective season at Bayern Munich.
Kevin de Bruyne has made no secret of his potential willingness to head to Saudi Arabia this summer, which has led to Man City looking at replacements. Musiala reportedly tops the shortlist, but he will be anything but a bargain.
Christian McFarlane - NYCFC
Having already signed Savio from CFG sister club Troyes this summer, City are set to sign another exciting youngster from an affiliate.
Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the Cityzens are closing in on a deal to sign American youngster Christian McFarlane from NYCFC. The 17-year-old defender is set to join the academy initially.
