REVEALED: Man Utd target has HIGHEST release clause in the Bundesliga
Bayer Leverkusen defender Edmond Tapsoba has the highest release clause in the Bundesliga, according to German media.
The 25-year-old centre-back has been one of the key cogs in Xabi Alonso's well-oiled Bayer 04 machine this season. Though he has probably been the least spectacular of the Bundesliga leaders' defenders, Tapsoba has been just as important as his headline-grabbing teammates.
The Burkina Faso international goes about his business quietly and has marshalled the German top flight's best defence this season. Now, BILD reports that Tapsoba boasts the highest release clause in the division.
The German outlet claims that the Burkinabe centre-back's exit clause stands at a whopping €100 million, some €15m more than Lois Openda's, with the RB Leipzig striker in second. The defender extended his deal until 2028 last September after significant summer interest in his services.

Man Utd still keen on Tapsoba?
Manchester United were just one of the clubs keen on the Bayer 04 man last summer, but their budget ultimately did not permit them to sign a big-money centre-back.
Fabrizio Romano recently revealed that there is still some interest from the Red Devils, but that a deal will be very complicated. "I think it's going to be difficult for Tapsoba, for example, now with Xabi Alonso staying," he told The United Stand. "They will try to keep all the stars, so I think Tapsoba is going to be a complicated one."

Man Utd's top options for the summer appear to be Jarrad Branthwaite, Gleison Bremer and Jean-Clair Todibo. FootballTransfers exclusively revealed that the Red Devils are really pushing to secure the signature of Everton youngster Branthwaite.
Bremer could be had for €60m this summer, but it is thought that he is not at the very top of Man Utd's shortlist. Todibo, meanwhile, would be a fairly cheap option at €47m and one would think that the INEOS connection with Nice would help, but the Frenchman has been under fire in recent weeks.
