Five players who could join Real Madrid this summer
Real Madrid are once again looking to make a statement in the transfer market.
After signing the likes of Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni and Jude Bellingham in recent years, as well as Kyian Mbappe on a free transfer, Los Blancos will yet again splash the cash this summer.
It had been football's worst-kept secret in recent months that PSG megastar Mbappe was on his way to the Santiago Bernabeu, but despite the astronomical financial outlay required to sign him, the Frenchman may not be the only big name to arrive.
Here are five players who could join Real Madrid this summer...

William Saliba (Arsenal)
In what is quite a sensational transfer rumour, Real Madrid want to sign Arsenal defender William Saliba this summer, according to reports.
Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be interested. The France international has become one of the best defenders in the world following his return to the Emirates Stadium.
Saliba has three years left on his current contract and an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €58.8 million. But of course, Arsenal are unlikely to let the 23-year-old leave - and would only likely listen to world-record bids.
CaughtOffside say that he is a target for the club but the La Liga club will have to tussle with PSG.
Alphonso Davies (Bayern Munich)
Another fairly obvious one is Alphonso Davies' potential move to Spain. The Bayern Munich left-back is in a contract stalemate with his club and it appears as though no extension is forthcoming.
This means that the Bavarians will try cash in on the Canadian this summer to avoid losing him for nothing next year. Real Madrid, it is claimed, have been working on this deal since at least October 2023 and they are only waiting for the final green light from Bayern to make a formal approach.

Miguel Gutierrez (Girona)
Perhaps the most low-key transfer Real could make this summer is bringing back Miguel Gutierrez. The former Castilla full-back has impressed at Girona of City Group and there have been suggestions that Los Blancos could utilise their €8 million buy-back clause.
The acquisition of Davies could yet change those plans, but expect Gutierrez to don the famous white next term if Real fail to land the Canadian. Real Madrid had also been linked with the Gutierrez's right-sided counterpart Yan Couto, but the Man City-owned Brazilian has joined Borussia Dortmund on loan.
Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool)
File this one under the more unrealistic potential deals. Real Madrid are reportedly monitoring Trent Alexander-Arnold's contract talks - or lack thereof - with the right-back's current deal expiring in 2025.
Liverpool are yet to start negotiations over fresh terms for their vice-captain. Despite some suggestions that Real could launch a bid this summer, it seems much more likely that they will play the long game and wait until next year before formalising their interest.
Jarrad Branthwaite (Everton)
Yes, believe it or not, Real Madrid have been linked with England international Jarrad Branthwaite in recent months. This is due to the fact that it was Carlo Ancelotti who handed him his Everton debut during his pub-quiz-worthy stint at the club.
However, it is unlikely that Los Blancos will have the finances available following the arrival of Kylian Mbappe. Moreover, Ancelotti recently claimed that Real are not planning to strengthen the defence despite the departure of captain Nacho for Saudi Arabia.
